Lt. Governor Peter Kinder was first elected the 46th Lieutenant Governor of Missouri in 2004. Previously, Kinder served in the Missouri Senate representing the Southeast counties of Bollinger, Cape Girardeau, Madison, Perry, Scott and Wayne. While in the Senate, he became the first Republican elected President Pro Tem, the Senate’s top official. Kinder was the only Republican to win statewide office in both 2008 and 2012.

Born and raised as an eighth-generation Missourian in Cape Girardeau, Peter’s parents instilled in him core conservative values, like working hard and caring for those in need. Kinder is a trusted and tireless champion of conservative causes and has the NRA’s highest A+ rating and Missouri Right to Life’s “Defender of Life Award.” As Lt. Governor, Kinder has championed issues affecting Missouri’s seniors and veterans. His history of cutting spending and returning unused budgets each year as Lt. Governor is something he looks to extend to every facet of government.

Kinder has dedicated his career to building Republican leadership and has been in the trenches with the activists fighting to protect educational freedom. He has led the fight against Obamacare since day one, and he stood up for Missourians amidst the failure of leadership in Ferguson and at the University of Missouri. Lt. Governor Peter Kinder is committed to fighting the fights Missourians care about and leading on key issues for our state.
